Notes

The Encore of One More Saturday Night was not recorded due to a battery failure. I normally don't like to post incomplete shows, but since both set are intac, so here they are.

1st Set was threatening a thunderstorm with rain, but the rain never came. Mics for the first set were 6ft high due to the wind needless to say windsreeens were used. 2nd Set with no threating thundershowers the mics were raised to 10 ft. with no windscreens.

Thanks to furthur and there crew for allowing us to record and share the music. I thought my Battery died before the One More saturday Night Encore, but its here may have a splice in it.

Subject: A pleasant surprise
This is the rare show that actually sounds better to me now than it did when I was actually at the show. I was really psyched that it was within biking distance of my house (back in the day, I walked to a Dead show or two, but never biked to one). The only trouble was that it was well over 100 degrees and extremely humid, which made biking anywhere not really the best idea. So, I was dehydrated and probably close to heat stroke through the first set, and, generally, wished I'd stayed home. Then, I managed to hydrate a bit during intermission, and things cooled down a bit, and I was able to enjoy what turned out to be a dream set-list (even if the Viola Lee Blues I was hoping for never materialized), though, from where I was standing, Phil's vocals were practically inaudible and I kept wondering if they'd gone into a different song during Unbroken Chain. Now, however, listening to the show, the first set sounds really good, and the second set sounds just awesome--the Unbroken Chain is a bit weak, but better than it did at the time). (No, it's not as good as the Dead with Jerry on a good night, but, actually, considerably better than the show I saw in Vegas, a month or two before Garcia died, where I remember thinking I would've had a better time if I'd paid a couple dollars to see a Dead cover band in a bar).

Subject: Bill Rocks!!!
This is an amazing show to say the least from my favorite taper who along with Z Man make the best recordings. I always look to see if Bill recorded a show before settling for another source. Download this!!!

Subject: Couldn't you try just a little bit more
what a show. these guys seem to get tighter every year. they sounded great, full of energy and strong. I could have left after phil singing peggy-o, what a treat. the second set, I mean c'mon. the only reason it's 4 stars is because it was 100 degrees there. nasty. I know that the weather should not influence a review of music, but hey, tough titty said the kitty. this is a great show for listening to at work or at home, or driving in the car. much thanks and appreciation to bill g for the fast and clean upload.

Subject: Individual Contributions
I'm getting ready to tune into Set 2, 3 daze later...

It's All Good!

Anyway, is it possible to have a section of total show individual (stat) efforts, starting with the band lineup and everyone who was part of that show, restroom attendants if they contributed (which they do of course with a smile :) ???

Perhaps I could be guided to someone here where I can be of assistance?

Subject: The titles are important too
Thanks for the recording and upload but I really dislike that the song titles in the player are written in all lower case and with no spaces between words. Very hard to read and nothing cool or hip about it. There's a reason why English is punctuated and spaced as is it. Then again, the other recording doesn't have song titles at all, so you are one up, Geez...

Subject: Thank you!!!
First, I would like to give thanks to Bill for taking the time to record this show. There is nothing like getting to relive the music all over again. Secondly, I agree with the reviewer below. The boys came on strong from the very beginning, must have been the heat and lightning. It sure was HOT undercover, for once I was wishing I had lawn seats!

Subject: What u are and what u are meant to be
A polished recording of a tasty show. And what a lightning fast upload: so kind! It opens like we're in 2nd set already and just keeps on giving. Am floating to Dark Star as I type . . . just beautifully inviting.

Thanks for the recording, though a little bass heavy, imho. But, maybe it's my crummy speakers. Other than that, good stuff! Oh, and yes OMSN is here at the end.

Subject: Great Sound!
Wow, thanks so much Bill. Great work on capturing the sound of that pavilion at the Mann Center. Band sounds very gelled and I missed this show for the first time in years. You are truly appreciated for putting it up so fast as well.

Besides a monster setlist, I hear it was an amazingly HOT and HUMID one. Perhaps Furthur had something to do with bringing the heat up a couple of more degrees?

Subject: Smokin' Show!
The stream was choppy, then down, saw a new one, via Philzone, midway through 2nd set. Wowzers, listening to Chinacat/Rider, Peggy-O, etc. for 1st time, this AM. Thank You....Thank You!!!!
